Rome (NEV), April 30, 2017 – Pastor Luca Maria Negro, president of the Federation of Protestant Churches in Italy (FCEI) in a letter sent to Giusi Nicolini, Mayor of Lampedusa (Sicily), expressed his congratulations for the UNESCO Peace Award she received on April 19 last.
“This prize represents a precious acknowledgment to your person and to the community you represent which stands out for the reception and solidarity actions of migrants during the past years”, the letter reads and continues -: “As FCEI, present in Lampedusa for the last three years with the Mediterranean Hope Project, we hope that such an acknowledgement might help in the promotion of the ‘humanitarian corridors’ program we realize together with the Community of St. Egidio”.
