Salvation Army. School-kit for pupils in trouble

With the new school year, the solidarity initiative inspired by the "suspended coffee" model, is back in Rome and Milan

Rome (NEV / Riforma.it), September 14, 2018 – Also for this school year the Salvation Army (EDS) comes into action in favor of disadvantaged families with the “suspended school kit”. The initiative is inspired by the beautiful Napolitan tradition of leaving a coffee paid for those who cannot afford it, and has been already applied in recent years to the “cappuccino” in several Italian towns. EDS is now proposing the project in a new form and aimed to different recipients. “Put solidarity into the school-kit” is a small but meaningful action of solidarity which helps almost 60.000 people in social distress in Italy, and invites those who buy in certain bookshops in Milan and Rome, to leave paid the basic material for school. The items will then be delivered privately by EDS to the students’ parents.

In Milan, the bookshops that support the initiative are: the CartoLibreria Scotti – via Canonica 72; Cartoleria Colombo  – Via L. Canonica 89 (Piazza Gramsci, pedestrian area); CartAllegra – Via A. Elmo, 29; Giocattoli Cartolibreria – via Adriano, 3b.

In Rome, the bookshop “Le Torri Booklet” – Via Amico Aspertini, 410.
