Rome (NEV), November 18, 2018 – “History and Prophecy: the legacy of Giovanni Franzoni”, that was the title of the meeting held on 9-10 November, to commemorate Giovanni Franzoni on the 90th anniversary of his birth, promoted by the Christian grass-root community of St. Paul in Rome.
Among the various initiatives, a round table at the theatre of the basilica of St. Paul outside the walls, also attended by pastor Luca Maria Negro, president of the Federation of Protestant Churches in Italy (FCEI). Negro in his speech underlined how Franzoni did not theorize about ecumenism, but was concentrated in living it – mostly in the practical experience of the magazine “Confronti”.
In the hall, among others, the founder of the Interfaith Center for Peace (CIPAX) Gianni Novelli and Msgr. Luigi Bettazzi. The meeting was also attended by Luigi Sandri, Paolo Lojudice, Alberto Melloni, Marinella Perroni, Anna Maria Marlia.
The actor Marco Baliani read a few passages of Franzoni’s book “The hearth belongs to God”, (1973).
