The evangelical churches of Rome celebrate the feast of creation

Rome (NEV), September 28, 2019 – To celebrate the liturgical period known as “Time of Creation” the Council of the Protestant Churches of Rome * (CCE) organized the Feast of Creation for Saturday 28 September, at 3.30 p.m..
In the garden of the Lutheran church in Via Sicilia, there have been moments of music, meeting and prayer, a worship service, contributions from the various participating communities.  A children’s area and refreshments were provided.
The feast of creation was open to all interested people and put together different Protestant churches, which  presented their respective “eco” initiatives to contribute to the safeguard of creation: giving up disposable tableware and the use of plastic in general, using recycled paper both in private homes and in communities and other proposals.

The initiative was part of a broader calendar proposed by the evangelical communities of Rome, with an approach focused on the themes of water, waste at sea, water savings, respect for the land and proper use of resources. The CCE’s commitment to creation and the environment will continue over time with other initiatives.

* The Council is the body that brings together the Adventist, Baptist, Lutheran, Methodist and Waldensian churches of Rome and, in particular, the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Appia and Lungotevere, the Baptist churches of Centocelle, Garbatella, Montesacro, Teatro Valle and Trastevere, the Lutheran Church of Via Sicilia 70, the Methodist churches of Ponte Sant’Angelo and Via XX Settembre, the Waldensian churches of Piazza Cavour and Via IV Novembre, the French-speaking Protestant Christian community.
