Rome (NEV), January 24, 2020 – The Center for Reproductive Medicine of the International Evangelical Hospital of Genoa excels for the results achieved in the treatment of infertility. Over 10,000 outpatient services were performed in the two-year period 2018/19 and 1,196 cycles of Medically Assisted Procreation (PMA) treatment began. The services offered also include the psychological support of couples in therapy.
“The results of the center are above the national average – emphasized Mauro Costa, director of the Reproductive Medicine department -. The 21% of the couples who begin a cycle of therapy and the 31% of those who arrive to carry out the transfer of embryos to the uterus, become pregnant (against, respectively, the 17% and the 27% of couples at national level). In addition, thanks to the contribution of cycles that use cryopreserved oocytes and embryos, the 41% of couples get pregnant. To these pregnancies are added those obtained with more traditional female and male therapies, medical or surgical, which by number are equivalent to those from PMA techniques”.
