The Week of Rights celebrated by the Italian Baptists

The celebration was promoted by the Department of Evangelization of the Baptist Evangelical Christian Union of Italy. This year's theme was the right to education and learning

Rome (NEV / Riforma.it), April 11, 2021 – Every year the Department of Evangelization of the Baptist Evangelical Christian Union of Italy (UCEBI) promotes the Week of Human Rights. The Week takes place close to April 4, the day in which Martin Luther King, the Baptist pastor and leader of the civil rights movement for African Americans, was assassinated in 1968. The theme of the Week, celebrated this year from 6 to 11 April, was “The right to education and learning”. Due to the pandemic also this year the event took place electronically. “But this should not discourage us”, writes the UCEBI Department of Evangelization, “a series of materials will be published for the occasion on Il Seminatore website (www.ucebi.it/ilseminatore.net) and on the magazine’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ilseminatore)”.

In particular, among the many shared contents, we highlight: two articles on the role of education and learning in the Protestant project by teachers Fabrizio Oppo and Stefano Meloni; the testimony of Yacouba Coulibaly, responsible for development projects in several African countries; a biblical meditation on Isaiah 1, 17 by the pastor Luca Reina; the video interviews made with three theologians involved in training, with Pastor Gabriela Lio, president of the Federation of Evangelical Women in Italy (FDEI) and finally with Pastor Lidia Maggi, head of the UCEBI
