Waldensian 8/1000, this is how the funds were used in 2019

The Waldensian Board published on December 2 the report of the 2019 uses of the Waldensian and Methodist 8x1000

Rome (NEV), December 5, 2020 – How were the funds raised by the Waldensian 8/1000 used? The detailed report of the projects funded in 2019 has been published on December 2. The news has been released by the chiesavaldese.org website. “An important appointment – reads the note on the portal of the Waldensian Board – that wants to respect the transparency pact that the Waldensian Church signs with the Italian people every year, in the usual awareness that these are public funds allocated for no ecclesiastical or religious activities, but for solidarity, culture, inclusion”.
“About the 95% of the funds were invested in project activities in Italy (62.2%) and abroad (32.69%) – says Manuela Vinay, person in charge of the 8/1000 Office (OPM) of the Waldensian Board – . Management costs are 1.99% while those dedicated to communication amount to 3.1. This allows us to say that the “ancillary” costs, as per the mandate of our Synod, are always contained below 5- 6%, to practically ensure the total devolution of the funds to projects. On the last page of the document there is a general graph that illustrates the total subdivision and management of the available funds”.
The amounts allocated to Italy include, for an amount equal to 2.7 million euros, the initial share of the Covid-19 Fund – which amounts to a total of 8 million – established by the Waldensian Board last March and which was covered with 2019 Funds not yet assigned on that date. Within the report there are graphs with the percentage breakdown for the different categories of intervention in Italy and abroad and, as regards to the latter, also a breakdown by geographical areas. The document lists all the non-profit organizations that have received funding, with the precise amount given by the Waldensian OPM.
